Scapular Medal.
In 1251, the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Simon Stock and told him "Whosoever
dies clothed in this (scapular) shall not suffer eternal fire." On the back of the
medal is a picture of the Sacred heart (normally required if a medal is to be
considered a Scapular medal).
Matka Boska. The "Mother of God" of Chestochowska. Also know a s the "Black Madonna" due to the present darkened appearance of the icon. She is the national heroine of the Polish people. This medal depicts the apparition of Mary to St. Simon Stock when he was the superior of the Carmelite order. Founded in the 13th century, the order gets its name from the mountain in the Holy Land (Mt. Carmel), which was the sight of the Carmelite's first monastery. (Chile) (July 16) Nino de Atocha. Imported from Atocha, Spain, the "Child of Atocha" now resides in the little town of Fresnillo, Mexico. The child Jesus under this title, is credited with being the special helper of those unjustly imprisoned. Infant of Prague Depicts the statue of the Christ Child King that has been preserved since 1628 in the church of Our Lady of Victory in Prague, Czechoslovakia.
