Menorah. Recalls the battle in 165 B.C. that Judas Macabacus fought to regain the temple from the Syrians. When he went into the temple to relight the Menorah, it burned for eight days, thought he only had oil for a day. This event is recalled at the Jewish festival of Hanukkah, the "festival of lights."

Mezuzah. A miniature replica of the Mezuzah that is often fixed to the doorpost of a Jewish home. The first 2 paragraphs of the "Shema" (Deut 6:49; 11:13-21) are inscribed on a parchment and inserted into the container. The small jewelry version is worn around the neck and is a symbol of Jewish identity and a reminder of God's presence everywhere.
